Mr Aslam graduated from University of Health Sciences in Pakistan in 2006. After completing his specialist training in General Surgery, he moved to Ireland to complete his specialist training in Urology.
He completed his Membership Exam with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012 followed by his Masters with National University of Ireland. In 2017, following completion of his FRCS(Urol), he was elected as Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He was later elected as Fellow of European Board of Urology (FEBU).
His post-fellowship training continued in France, Germany, Spain and UK where he developed his subspecialty expertise in renal stone disease, endoluminal treatment of upper tract urothelial cancers, thulium laser enucleation of prostate (ThuLEP) and prostate cancer diagnostics and treatment. In late 2017, he commenced as consultant urologist in Letterkenny University Hospital, Saolta Healthcare Group where he worked for 5 years as single-handed lead urologist.
Mr Aslam is a member of European Association of Urology and Urology in Emerging Countries. He maintains clinical and research links with his colleagues in Belgium, France, Germany and the Middle East.
Mr Aslam deals with wide variety of benign and malignant urological conditions as well as paediatric urology. Some of the procedures he performs are as follows:
In addition he performs all core urology procedures such as cystoscopy, hydrocelectomy, epididymal cyst excisions etc.
He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers and review articles in various national and international journals. He has presented in various national and international meetings and symposia. He is an examiner with National University of Ireland and trainer for Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
