On arrival at the Hospital you will be directed to our Admissions Office on our Surgical Ward. You will be greeted by our Ward Clerk, who will complete the formal admission process. You will then be taken to your room and introduced to your Nurse who will carry out a nursing admission assessment

It is important to stay warm before surgery as this will help lower the risk of post-operative complications,however, please be advised that the hospital environment may be cooler than your own home. Please bring additional clothing to help keep comfortably warm.
Medications
When you are admitted for a procedure, it is important that we know about the medications you are currently taking. Please ensure you notify us of all the medications you usually take prior to your admission date or on the day of your admission. This includes all prescription medication, vitamins or other food supplements, complementary medicines, nicotine replacement and herbal remedies you may take.
On the day of your admission you can help us to look after you by bringing with you either:
all of the medications that you normally take, or;
a list with all the details of the medicines you usually take (you can use our Medications Checklist), or;
photographs on your phone of all of the medications that you normally take.
You may get written advice regarding medications at your pre-operative assessment, please ensure you follow any direct requests from your clinicians.
If you have any questions about stopping your medication, please contact your GP for advice.
If you are on blood thinning medication like Warfarin, you may need to stop this for a short period before your procedure - please contact your GP or Kingsbridge Private Hospital prior to your appointment.
"My first knee replacement was October 2023, and this was done the manual way. The pre and post op was fantastic for both! There was almost no pain in my hip or rest of my body after the second surgery which was a huge difference compared to my first knee. I was able to continue my physio as normal and I noticed I had more movement a lot sooner with my second knee, the robotic assisted.
I could not thank the staff enough and Mr McCaffrey for how kind and understanding, attentive they were. From the beginning, I felt heard, and understood. The nurses, the caterers, the physios, the doctors, pharmacists, it is top class care! Overall, in summary, I would highly recommend going for robotic assisted. It’s still a serious surgery, so pain is to be expected and recovery is not going to be rosy, but it is worth it. The relief I have now in both knees, walking without that bone-on-bone pain, I am grateful. And the robotic assisted was a noticeably less painful, faster recovery. "
