Foundation Fridays
14th, Oct 2024
In April we launched Foundation Friday's! Each month Foundation Friday focuses on a different theme, raising much needed funds for local initiatives and charitable causes across Northern Ireland. Keep scrolling to see how we've been getting on so far!
We kicked things off in April as staff from across the Group were busy raising money for the Kingsbridge Foundation by wearing yellow, taking part in online quizzes and satisfying their sweet tooth with special Kingsbridge Foundation muffins from our Kingsbridge Café. An amazing £414 was raised on the day, well done everyone!
We also welcomed Ruth Pinkerton from Rosie's Trust who shared some information about the charity, what they have achieved, how a £20,000 donation from the Kingsbridge Foundation has benefitted them and how we can get involved. For more information on Rosie's Trust, please click here.
In May we supported Team Kingsbridge as they prepared themselves to take part in Pedal the Periphery 2024, an epic challenge which saw them cycle 480 miles within 48 hours across Northern Ireland in aid of NIPANC.
We raised money by selling raffle tickets, Roary themed cupcakes our Kingsbridge Café's and a 'Where's Roary' puzzle!
In June, our Foundation Friday initiative raised an amazing £743 for Trauma & Orthopaedics Research Charity (TORC) who we welcomed to Kingsbridge Belfast to raise awareness with patients and staff around who they are and what they do.
At the end of June, team Kingsbridge also joined TORC in a challenging but fun climb up Slieve Donard to support and raise funds for this amazing charity. £2256.70 was raised on the day so a massive thank you to everyone who donated!
In July, Foundation Friday took place at Kingsbridge Diagnostic & Treatment Centre where we invited our members of staff for a first glimpse of this new patient facility which is now home to Kingsbridge Eye Clinic, Kingsbridge GP Clinic including our Bupa Health Centre and more!
This was a fantastic opportunity for all staff to visit the new site, meet the teams, learn more about the services offered and complete an orientation. On the day we asked our staff to provide feedback on the directions we provide to our patients and we hosted a 100 Square Lottery which raised money for Angel Eyes NI and Action Deaf Youth.
In August we supported Autism NI with members of staff from across the Group taking part in a charity abseil down the Europa Hotel in Belfast in aid of Autism NI.
This event raised much needed funds and awareness of the vital services they provide for communities across Northern Ireland. We would like to extend a massive well done to the team for taking part and to all those who made a donation. An amazing £1,485 was raised on the day, well done team!
