BLOG : Mother's Day 2024

08th, Mar 2024

Today is Mother's Day so we gathered together some of our Kingsbridge Mother/Daughter and Mother/Son duos across the Group for a Q&A to celebrate!

First up is Lynsey Brown, Theatre Utilisation Manager and her Mum Karen who works in the SSD Department at Kingsbridge North West.

What birth order do you come in your family?

I am the youngest sibling.

What is your earliest memory you have of your Mum?

Mum has always been a family person. We were always surrounded by our family on a weekly basis holding bingo in my Grannies kitchen on a Saturday afternoon playing for penny coins.

What makes Marie so special?

Mum is the Queen of the family caring, loving and always there to brighten up your day. She is also the best Grandmother to three gorgeous grandchildren.

Is there anything you did when you were a child you'd like to fess up to now?

Not really! However, I did sneak from time to time to disco's that I would probably not have been allowed to go to.

How does Marie inspire you?

Mum has always been a strong lady and I really wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for her guidance through life. Mum takes everything in her stride and has always taught me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to.

Is it fun working in Kingsbridge?

I have worked for the company now coming on 17 years! I cannot imagine working anywhere else, it really is a home from home. I love my job and my fellow colleagues. In my opinion it really is the best place to work.

Have you anything nice planned for Mother's Day or is it a surprise?

To treat her like the Queen she is with flowers and chocolates (we did treat her to the Galgorm for her 60th on Sunday past also!)

If you had 3 wishes for your mum, what would you wish for her?

  • To never change - and always be proud of me!
  • To live a long and healthy life
  • To continue to always be the life and soul of the party!!

Next up is Maria Kennedy, Capacity Utilisation Manager and Pearse Kennedy, One2One Team Leader and their Mum Marie, Theatre Nurse at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Belfast.

What birth order do you come in your family?

Pearse is the 5th born and the youngest, Maria is the middle child!

What is your earliest memory you have of your Mum?

"Ooh I can't remember, maybe when she cut my hair into a bob!" - Maria

What makes Marie so special?

"The unconditional support and love my mum supplies to friends and family." - Pearse

"She is unique and very quick witted. She has a good heart with the right intentions." - Maria

Is there anything you did when you were a child you'd like to fess up to now?

"Fortunately there isn't, I was a beloved child..." - Pearse

"I use to steal her eyeliner and used her toothbrush as a brush for my Barbies hair." - Maria

How does Marie inspire you?

"Through the dedication and her immense work ethic." - Pearse

"She is a hard worker, is always on the go and puts family first." - Maria

Is it fun working in Kingsbridge?

"I rather enjoy working in Kingsbridge, the environment is friendly and fun." - Pearse

"The 13 1/2 years I have worked for Kingsbridge has been fun! I enjoy the staff I manage and work alongside with." - Maria

If you had 3 wishes for your mum, what would you wish for her?

"Continuous good health, happiness and most importantly a win in bingo." - Pearse

"Good health, win the lotto and maybe a chauffeur as her driving is awful!" - Maria

We are wishing everyone a happy and relaxing Mothering Sunday!
