BLOG : Meet The Queen's Elite Athletes - Conall Bohill

Kingsbridge Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic works in partnership with the athletes, coaching staff and fitness teams at Queen’s Sport, Queen’s University in Belfast. As we enter the final semester we wanted to shine a light on some of the students and Elite Athletes that we are delighted to support.
Next up is Conall Bohil, Full Time Internal Business Masters Student from Belfast and Elite Athlete (GAA) at Queen's.
Are you a morning person and if so what’s the first thing you do when you waken up?
Yes and the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is make my bed.
What’s your favourite meal time of the day and what are you most likely to have on your plate?
Dinner, steak and spuds most preferred.
Is nutrition important to you and if so do you take any health supplements daily?
Nutrition is extremely important! I take Omega 3, Creatine, Vitamin D3 and Collagen.
How many times a week do you go to the gym, what is you least desirable exercise and why?
Usually, 3 times per week in the gym. Front squat is my my least favourite exercise.
Have you ever been injured through your sport? If so, what happened to you and how long were you recovering?
I am currently injured. I have a hamstring tendon tear so I am 5 weeks out from injury at the minute.
What do you do to relax?
I enjoy walking my dog or watching sport.
What other sport do you think you might excel in and why?
Golf - I might have to take it up full-time if the hamstrings doesn't behave.
How many hours sleep to you get on average and do you think this is enough?
Normally 7-8 hours. I think it is enough although I would want the quality of it to improve.
What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Make your bed first thing in the morning, first task of the day complete.
Over the next 12 to 18 months what are your overall objectives whilst being on the Elite Athlete Programme at Queen’s?
Get back on the field competing and make a dent in the Leinster Championship with Antrim.
What do you love most about being a student on the course?
It is a great environment to study and I have some free time to work on sport.
Who are your biggest Influencers in Sport and in Life?
Sport - Tom Brady
Life - My parents
How did you hear about the EAP Programme at Queens?
From my time in the GAA Academy at Queen's.
How do you find the support from Kingsbridge Physiotherapy Clinic and being able to avail of Athlete Profiling?
Second to none, great facilities and it gives a great understanding on physical areas to focus on.
What have been memorable achievements so far, and what is in the pipeline for the remainder of the year?
Representing Antrim is a memorable occasion every time. I try to maximise this opportunity while I have the chance.
And lastly, what is the end goal?
Be a good ancestor. Inspire a younger generation of Gaels in Antrim and give them the desire to represent the county when they are older.
