Mr Mark Jones

Mr Mark Jones is a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon.

Areas of treatment include;

• adult cardiac surgery - CABG, Aortic/Mitral/Tricuspid valve surgery, surgery of Thoracic Aorta, Pericardial surgery, cardiac tumours including atrial myxoma
• thoracic surgery - lunch resection (VATS and open), mediastinal/pleural/chest wall procedure, thoracosopic sympathectomy.

Mr Jones is the Regional Speciality Professional Advisor appointed by the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery of Great Britain & Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons.  He is the Deputy Director of the NI Professional Affairs Board of the Royal College of Surgeons and College Assessor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.  He is on the Intercollegiate Speciality Board of Examiners and is the President Elect Cardiothoracic Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.

His current NHS post is as Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.  He is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen's University.
