Mr Fayaz Callachand is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Altnagelvin Area Hospital. His main interest is in conditions affecting the lower limb, in particular hip and knee arthritis. He specialises in primary and revision arthroplasty of the hip and knee, including unicondylar knee arthroplasty.

Mr Fayaz Callachand completed a Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Revision Arthroplasty Fellowship in Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital Dublin under the guidance of Prof John O’Byrne, August 2016 - August 2017.

During this fellowship he helped to set up a prospective, multi-centre cohort study currently being conducted between Mater Misericoridae University Hospital, The Mater Private Hospital and the Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital - 'The Use of Next Generation Sequencing Techniques in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Bone and Joint Infections'.

Prior to this Mr Fayaz Callachand completed his Specialist Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in Northern Ireland, August 2010 - August 2016
